Panos makes Parliamentary submission on Zambia’s ATI Bill
Lusaka, 22 November 2023: Today, Panos Institute Southern Africa appeared before the National Assembly of Zambia’s Parliamentary Committee on Media, Information and Communication Technologies to share the organisation’s views on the Access to Information Bill (NAB No. 14 of 2023).
The Panos team comprised the Executive Director, Vusumuzi Sifile, Programmes Officer Ms. Nyambe Jere, Programmes Assistant Ms. Serah Mwenya, Programmes Assistant Mr. Kondwani Thindwa and Multimedia Assistant Mr. Chama Chabasungu. The team was accompanied by Open Spaces Zambia Chief of Party Ms. Teldah Mawarire and Senior Media Lawyer, Mr. Joe Nkadaani, as well as Free Press Initiative Executive Director Ms. Joan Chirwa.
The team shared reflections on the draft Bill which is currently before Parliament.
